The Short Version

Pocki is a privacy-first document scanner. Your scans, your text, your data — they stay on your device.

Pocki has no backend, no user accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. Every scan, every OCR pass, every barcode read, every enhancement, every object-removal/inpainting operation, and every PDF export runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks (Apple Vision, Core ML) and a small machine-learning model bundled inside the app. None of your documents, images, OCR text, or metadata are ever transmitted off your device by Pocki.

What We Do Not Collect

We want to be specific because "privacy-first" should mean something:

How On-Device Processing Works

The technologies powering Pocki run locally on your iPhone or iPad:

None of these features make a network request to perform their work. You can verify this by enabling Airplane Mode — every scanning, OCR, barcode, inpainting, and export feature continues to function.

Permissions We Request

Pocki does not request the microphone, location, contacts, calendar, reminders, motion, health, or notification permissions.

You can review or revoke any granted permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security (or Settings → Pocki) on your device.

Local Data Storage

All scanned documents, OCR text, edits, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using the iOS file system and the app's secure local storage. They are included in your encrypted iCloud or iTunes/Finder device backup if you have those enabled — that backup is between you and Apple, and Pocki never sees it. When you delete the app, all locally stored Pocki data is removed by iOS.

Subscriptions (Pocki Pro)

If you subscribe to Pocki Pro, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework. Pocki never sees your payment details.

Pocki verifies your subscription status entirely on your device using Apple's cryptographically signed StoreKit transactions. We do not use any third-party subscription provider, receipt-verification service, or analytics SDK. Your purchase information is never sent to a server operated by us or by any third party we have hired.

The only data exchanged for subscription functionality is between your device and Apple, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Network Activity — Full Disclosure

For complete transparency, here is every network destination Pocki may contact and why:

Pocki does not contact any other servers. No analytics endpoints, no ad networks, no logging services, no third-party subscription providers, no CDNs for your data.

Crash Reports

Pocki does not bundle any crash-reporting SDK (no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Bugsnag). If you have opted in to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers, Apple may forward anonymized crash logs from your device to us through App Store Connect. These logs contain stack traces and device model information; they do not contain your documents, photos, or personal data. This is handled entirely by Apple — we receive only what Apple chooses to share, and you can disable it in iOS Settings at any time.

Children's Privacy

Pocki is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)

Because Pocki does not collect or store personal information about you on our servers, there is no profile to access, port, correct, or delete. If you contacted us by email, you may request deletion of that correspondence at any time by writing to the address below. For App Store purchase records, please contact Apple, who is the merchant of record.

Website Contact Form

If you contact us through the website contact form, we receive only the information you provide (name, email, subject, message), used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date below and post the new version on this page. Material changes will also be highlighted in-app at the top of the next update.
